Privacy on your Mac

Your photos and their metadata are processed on your Mac. EXIF Magic for macOS does not collect data from the app.

Photos and files

The app reads the files you choose in the file picker, open from Finder, or drag into its workspace. Exports are written as new copies to a folder you select. Original files are not replaced.

No tracking or uploads

The Mac app has no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, accounts or photo-upload service. It does not send your photos, metadata or chosen coordinates to us. Its location collection and location changes work offline.

Local settings and session data

Appearance and export preferences are stored locally. Open photos and staged edits are held for the current workspace session. Export changes you want to keep before quitting.

Files you share

You decide where to save and share exported files. A folder managed by a cloud-storage provider may sync under that provider's settings. Removing metadata does not remove identifying details visible in the photograph or in its filename. Nearby location scrambling may still reveal your general area.

App Store and support

Apple handles purchases and may process App Store information under its own privacy policy. If you choose to contact support, we receive the information you send in that message. Avoid sending private photos or location information unless needed to explain your issue.
