Teachings carry a scripture chip — tap “Philippians 1:12-30” and the reader opens at that chapter with the cited verses lit in amber. Audio never stops.

Notes that remember the sermon

Select verses, write a note, and it records which teaching was playing. Your notes live in the Library, linked back to both the passage and the study that prompted them.

Every teaching names the speaker, the ministry, the church, and the copyright holder, and links back to that ministry's own site and giving page. The app is a doorway to these ministries, not a substitute for them.

Overview

Calvary Compass has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, and no advertising. It collects no personal information about you and does not track you across apps or websites. Its App Store privacy declaration is “Data Not Collected”.

What stays on your device

Everything personal you create stays on your iPhone or iPad: your listening history and resume positions, saved teachings, playlists, downloaded audio, study notes, highlighted verses, chosen translation, app icon, and opening screen.

None of it is uploaded, backed up to our servers, or shared with anyone, because there are no servers. We never see it.

The Bible, commentaries, and maps work offline

All nine Bible translations, all six commentaries, the cross-reference set, and the place list are bundled inside the app itself. Reading Scripture, opening a commentary, or writing a note never touches the network.

Connections the app does make

Ministry feeds and audio: teachings are fetched and streamed directly from each ministry's own publicly published podcast feed and media host. Those hosts can see the network request in their own logs, exactly as they would if you subscribed in Apple Podcasts. We do not proxy, mirror, or record any of it.
Apple Maps: the Places tab uses Apple's MapKit to draw map tiles, so map use is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Nothing else. The app contains no analytics, attribution, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK of any kind.

Permissions

Calvary Compass requests no permissions. It does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or notifications, and it does not request tracking permission because it does not track.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children, or from anyone else.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the effective date above changes with it, and a material change will be surfaced in the app.

Overview

Help with listening, reading, downloading, and studying in Calvary Compass. If something here does not answer your question, email us — a real person reads it.

A teaching will not play

Teachings stream from each ministry's own server. If one ministry fails while others work, that host is usually having a moment — try again later.
Pull down on Home to re-check every feed.
On cellular, large studies can take a few seconds to buffer before playback starts.
If a whole ministry shows no teachings, its feed may have moved. Tell us and we will re-point it.

Listening offline

Tap Download on any teaching to keep it on the device.
Downloads default to Wi-Fi only. Turn on Profile → Downloads → Allow Cellular Downloads to change that.
Library → Downloads lists everything saved, with total storage used.
The Bible, commentaries, cross-references, and maps are always offline — they ship inside the app.

Reading and studying

Tap the translation button in the reader to switch between the nine bundled translations.
Tap the study button to open Commentary, Cross-refs, and Places for the chapter you are reading.
Tap a scripture chip on any teaching to jump straight to that passage with the cited verses marked.
Select verses and choose Note to write a study note; it remembers which teaching was playing.

Changing the icon or opening screen

Profile → Appearance. Six app icons and five opening screens are included. iOS shows its own confirmation when the home-screen icon changes.

Playback controls

Skip back 15 seconds or forward 30 from anywhere, including the Lock Screen and headphones.
Playback speed runs from 1× to 2×; set a default in Profile → Playback.
Unplugging headphones pauses rather than switching to the speaker.
Everything resumes where you left off, even after the app is closed.

A ministry is missing, or a listing is wrong

Calvary Compass only carries publicly published feeds, and every teaching links back to its ministry. If you represent a ministry and want a correction, an addition, or a removal, email us and we will act on it.
