The short version

PanoForge does not require an account. It does not include ads, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers. The app does not upload your photographs, projects, exports, or review reports to us.

Who we are

PanoForge is a native macOS panorama stitching app from Steven Smith / SmittyPNW.art. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information through PanoForge. The app has no account system, no developer-operated cloud account, no advertising network, and no analytics service.

Your photos and projects

PanoForge processes the images you choose on your Mac. Imported photos, generated previews, exported panoramas, and optional .panoforge-report.json sidecar files are stored only where you choose to keep them. They are not sent to SmittyPNW.art.

Files and folders

When you open or export files, macOS asks you to choose the files or destination folders. PanoForge uses that access only to read the selected source images and write the exports or reports you request.

Internet connection

PanoForge is designed to run without a network account. Standard App Store services may handle purchase, download, update, crash, and diagnostic information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Support email

If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your message, email address, screenshots, or sample files. We use support messages only to answer you, diagnose problems, and improve the app.

Children's privacy

PanoForge is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need an account? No. PanoForge does not require sign-in.
  • Does it work offline? Yes. Panorama alignment, preview, and export run locally on your Mac.
  • Does PanoForge upload my photos? No. The app processes selected images locally and writes exports only where you choose.
  • What image formats can I use? PanoForge reads common macOS-supported image formats and is designed for high-quality originals such as TIFF, PNG, and JPEG exports.
  • How do I test the workflow? Open PanoForge, choose Panorama > Load Demo Set, then choose Panorama > Align & Stitch. The demo creates a stitched preview and review evidence without needing your own images.
  • Can I export evidence with the final panorama? Yes. PanoForge can write a .panoforge-report.json sidecar that records alignment readiness, overlap strength, render timing, crop guidance, and export status.
