Choose your moment
Open Today, choose a place and date, then select My Day, Walking, Photography, Quiet Time, Hiking, or Moon Watching from the activity menu. Tap the sky graph to explore positions through the day. Save a window to keep it in Plan.
Find a place
Open Places and type a city. Choose a search result to use its local time zone. If results do not appear, check your internet connection and try the city with its state or country. Saved places stay on this iPhone.
Weather and offline planning
Weather forecasts use Apple Weather and need a connection. If a forecast cannot refresh, try again later; sun and moon times and saved plans still work offline. Turn Weather forecasts on or off in Settings.
Reminders and Live Activities
Enable Remind me when saving an outing and allow notifications when asked. Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Heliory if a reminder does not arrive. Open an outing in Plan to start a Live Activity when the outing ends within the next eight hours.
Add a widget
Touch and hold your Home Screen, choose Edit → Add Widget, and find Heliory’s Time outside widget. Widgets use the place and activity selected in the app. iOS schedules updates; open Heliory to refresh your selection.
Understand the times
Times use the selected place’s time zone. Sun and moon calculations assume a level horizon. Mountains, buildings, clouds, and atmospheric conditions can change what you see. Hiking windows are daylight planning aids, not route or safety assessments.
Make it yours
Open Settings to choose one of three app icons, turn gentle haptics on or off, or change weather preferences. The Creator section includes Steven Smith’s photography and other apps.
Remove saved information
Delete outings and saved places in the app when you no longer need them. Deleting the app removes its local app data; device backups are managed separately in Apple settings. Heliory has no account to delete.
Heliory 1.0 has been submitted to Apple for review. It is not yet publicly available.
